Billy James Moore

Billy James Moore, born March 1, 1929, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on March 16, 2020. He was born in Farwell, Texas to Hilda Williams. He was raised by his loving mother Hilda Williams and stepfather Abe Williams. Memories growing up include; playing basketball and football at Farwell High School, and roller skating. He met the love of his life, Carlene Guess, roller skating at the Clovis, New Mexico Skating Rink. Carlene has been his loving wife for 71 years this August. They moved to El Paso, Texas in 1951 excited to start a family and a new career with Chevron. He continued to work for Chevron until his retirement in 1986. Later in life he started his own photography business, Bill Moore Photo, specializing in wedding photos. He and his wife Carlene ran the photo business until 1988. Throughout life he enjoyed camping, deer hunting, and dove and pheasant hunting. He absolutely loved hunting with his grandsons around the surrounding Texas, New Mexico landscapes. He also enjoyed going out to dinner and playing dominos with friends. He also had a passion for gardening. He took great pride in his yard, always watering and mowing. He was preceded in death by: his parents; Abe and Hilda Williams, and grandson; Brandon Clifford. He is survived by his wife; Carlene Moore. Daughters and son-in laws: Vickie Moore Tracy and husband John Earl Tracy, Vanessa Moore Clifford and husband Richard Clifford. Grandchildren; Jeannette Tracy Cunningham, Joanna Tracy Mayberry, and Christopher James Clifford. Great-grandchildren; Audrey Mayberry, Emily Mayberry, Charlie Cunningham, Katelynn Clifford, Adelynn Clifford, and Olivia Clifford, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family would like to thank the Pebble Creek Rehabilitation/Nursing Facility in El Paso for their loving care. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina.
