Our Heavenly Father chose Good Friday to carry our precious, beloved Billy McCain to her new home in heaven.
Billy never met a stranger. It didn't matter if it was a dog, cat, bird, stray, or a person; she loved everything and everybody. She would do everything in her power to help anyone or any animal in need. If unable to help physically, she’d pray her rosaries a million times because that’s how strong she loved. Billy’s heart was bigger than the universe, and her strength was beyond measure.
Billy worked as an accountant for a non-profit organization, a large CPA firm, and eventually retired from a large home building company. She became very involved in animal rescue efforts taking in many older dogs over the years and giving them forever homes. A proud Ysleta Indian (class of 1958), she was a rabid Dallas Cowboy fan and became excited about the World Series every year regardless of who was playing. Billy became as knowledgeable about her disease as she could, spending countless hours counseling other patients about how to live with it.
Billy is survived by her beloved husband, John McCain, of 52 years; her sister, Sally Contreras; cousins, Henry Vejil, Vangie & John Knowles; nieces, Debbie Contreras, Valerie Contreras (Erik Edwards); nephew, Sammy Contreras and family; and her goddaughter, Mindy Marquez. She is preceded in death by her mother, Connie Lozano and father, Charlie Lozano.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul, and was very devout in her faith. Regardless of her circumstances, she carried on with a sunny disposition as if life was great.
Our good Lord carried her through life and strife. In the end, she was unable to stand and struggled to speak, yet, her words of love and wisdom still resonate in our hearts and souls.

"Today You Did The Bravest Thing"
Today you did the bravest thing
Today you set me free.
Thank you for showing me the ultimate dignity.
I'm sorry that my leaving has broken your kind heart.
But we knew this day would come, the day we had to part.
Don't think I did not hear every last word you said.
Don't think I did not feel your trembling hand touch my head.
Today you did the bravest thing, today you set me free.
Thank you for a wonderful life, thank you for loving me.
