Billy R. Davidson

September 18, 1947 — March 28, 2008

Retired Army Sergeant First Class, Billy Ray Davidson, Sr. “Dave”, 60, died at his home on March 28, 2008 in El Paso, Texas. He was born Sept. 18, 1947, in Coushatta, LA to Curtis Davidson and Pearline Green. He was the eldest of six siblings: Patsy, Joyce, Curtis, Bryant, George Wayne, and Jerry (deceased). Mr. Davidson joined the United States Army and proudly served his country for 22 years. He retired as a Sergeant First Class with the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, surrogate father, and friend to many. He had a quirky, no-non-sense way of making others laugh and go for their dreams. He was always willing to help his neighbors, family, and friends. He encouraged many to be their best, never do a half-behind job, and to be dauntless. Mr. Davidson was a resident of Northeast El Paso since 1989. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Marvia Davidson, daughter Marvia Pearlene Davidson, sons Billy Ray Davidson, Jr., and Leslie W. Davidson and wife Stephanie, and four grandchildren: Aja, Abijah, Anaya, and Danielle. Heartfelt thanks to One Life at Cielo Vista Church, Maranatha Church, Victory Chapel, Mrs. Hardwick, Joann Monk of Phoenix, AZ, and Pastors Carolyne and John Redic for their prayers and donations. Thank you Avel & Susette Villegas, Venise Villegas, Mr. Kenny Villegas, The Giallanzas, Mr. and Mrs. Beeler, Shakera Crawley, Mary Lou Jara, Jackie Robinson, Aunt Amelia, and Uncle Bobby for your service and care of Davidson family survivors. Love and thanks to our and dad's many friends and family (who traveled near and far) for your prayers, thoughtfulness, and the loving care that you gave. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 pm, Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. A graveside ceremony and interment will take place on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 11:30 am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Service entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
