Betty Louise Gray

June 7, 1928 — June 2, 2008

Betty L. Gray went home to be with her Jesus Monday, June 2, 2008 night while she was asleep. She is now dancing the jitterbug with her husband Mel, and singing praises to her Jesus. Her battle is over and the victory is hers. A celebration of her life was scheduled on Thursday night from 7:30 to 8:30 and a memorial tribute is scheduled for TODAY, Friday, June 6, 2008 at 9 am. Both celebration and memorial will be at Sunset Funeral Home West located at 480 North Resler. The partying will continue at Ft Bliss Cemetery at 10:30 Friday morning where she will physically be joined to her beloved Mel. Betty has been a resident of El Paso for 40 years where she attended Mountainview Baptist Church and then Church of Grace. She has been active in the Citywide Singles Ministry, Seniors Ministry and has been a Sunday school teacher for years. Most recently she worked for the Corps of Engineers as the Dam secretary at Conchas Dam, New Mexico where she coined the phrase “I love my DAM job” way before it made it into the movies. She will be remembered by her children Robert Gray and Judy Love, her grandchildren Sean Gray, Ian Gray, Melvin Gray, Annalisa Arnold, Yvonne Love, David Love and Robert Love and her great grandchildren, Dimitri and Star Love, her sister Eva Alison, her nieces Gail Patrick and Lane Hill, and her great nephew Luke Chavez.
