Betty J. Flowers

Betty J. Flowers,62, passed away November 9, 2007. She was born on August 20, 1945 in El Paso, Texas to Jesse H. Parks Sr., and Mattie B. Parks. She was the third of thirteen children. She graduated from Bel-Air High School and attended El Paso Community College receiving her Associates Degree in Psychology. She also attended Park College receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and later furthered her education by attending Sul Ross University where she received her Master Degree of Science in Educational Counseling. Betty retired from El Paso Community College as Job Placement Coordinator and later worked for VTLC (Veterans Transitional Living Center) Support Team as Resident Manager and Program Coordinator. She is preceded in death by her father; Jesse Parks Sr., and two sisters. She is survived by her Mother; Mattie B. Parks, son; Michael D. Parks (Ana), daughter; April Flowers, grandchildren; Michael and Joseph Parks, and a host of relatives and friends. To best describe our mother, daughter, sister and friend we think her most profound characteristic is self-less and putting others first. She will be missed greatly and lovingly remembered. Memorial Service will be at 2 pm Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Faith Tabernacle Church, 3927 Bliss, El Paso, Texas. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
