Bette Jean Griffin

Bette Jean Griffin, 88, passed away June 4, 2017. Bette was born in El Paso, Texas on August 18, 1928. She graduated from Douglas High School in 1946, where she competed in track and field and also rode horses. She would later marry Joselito Griffin in 1955. Bette was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her time worrying about the people who mattered in her life. Bette also enhanced the lives of all those she loved with her compassion. She had many hobbies and enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Bette is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joselito Griffin; her children Jacqueline Scranton, Bruce Griffin, and Kim Padilla; and her grandchildren Stephanie Griffin, Stephen Griffin (Miaya Griffin), and Jazmin Padilla. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Service will begin at 11:30am on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Committal Service to follow at 1:00pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
