Bertha J. Rodriguez, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother was called to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday night, March 20th, 2021. She was 80 years young.
Born November 8th, 1940 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Pedro and Ramona L. Payan, she would grow up the only daughter, and eldest child, in a home with six brothers. As a result, she would grow to be tough, strong-willed, and thick-skinned; yet nurturing, loving, and compassionate.
Described by her niece as a “GREAT woman of God,”, she was an active member of Saint Paul Catholic Church and lived her life to please The Lord. Once asked by her grandson how long she hoped to live, she replied “Long enough to see my grandchildren grow up to be adults, but not long enough to keep me from joining Jesus in Heaven.” True to the Apostles’ Creed, she explained that she was never fearful of death because life on Earth is just a stop on the way to eternal life in God’s kingdom.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years Adrian A. Rodriguez, daughters Maria Lorena Valdez (Gerardo) and Veronica Romero (Arturo), sons Adrian Jr. and Arturo (Isela), brothers Ramon, Carlos Rogelio, Ruben, Lorenzo, Gustavo, and Francisco Javier, 13 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by infant brother Vincente Payan.
