Eulogy
Bertha Mejia 61, departed to the presence of God on Saturday March 11, 2023, in her sleep. Bertha was 1 of 11 children that was held together by immense love that our parents bestowed on us. They taught us to love everyone regardless of our deficiencies. Bertha was no exception. To her brothers and sisters, she exemplified a meekness that was unmatchable.
Described by her husband Todd, she was “an Angel that saved my life” and to her only son Christian, “Everything a son could ask for in a mother”. Bertha was the best “Husky mom a Husky could have. Rewarding him DAILY with kabob treats, Khan in return completed and filled her heart with joy every minute of the day. The general populous always says that people are “good” but Bertha truly defined goodness. Her whole neighborhood including their kids knew her by name. Everybody called on Bertha when they needed something, anything. She would drop everything she was doing at the moment and regardless of her pain she would run to their aid anytime of the day. Whether you needed money, food, a ride or just someone to talk to for endless hours, that was our “Birdie”. She never wanted or expected anything from anybody. If all that knew her had the capacity to “love” like Bertha loved this world would be a better place.
