Bertha M. Carpio

Bertha M. Carpio, 87, a lifelong resident of El Paso, TX, passed away on 26 April 2017. She was born in El Paso, TX on June 22nd 1929 to Carmen Ybarra and Francisco Martinez. Bertha was married to Raul M. Carpio for over 50 years and remained by his side until his death. Mrs. Carpio worked for countless years, until her retirement, at Irving High School as a Cafeteria Manager. She was a meticulous host, cook and seamstress with a penchant for baking. She is survived by her sisters, Armida Ontiveros, Amelia Chavez, Gloria Medina, and Carmen Madrid; brother, Frank Martinez; she is also survived by several cousins and many nieces and nephews to include grand and great nieces and nephews. Her spirit, joy and talents will be remembered. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Service will begin at 9:00am on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Committal Service to follow at 10:30am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
