It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard “Bernie” R. Duplisea on July 7, 2024, in the presence of his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Virginia “Ginger” of 56 years; daughter Reagan (Mark) Kelley; son, Jared “Bear” (Frankie); grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jacob, Pavel and Raleigh. Survivors also include brothers, Robert, Melvin (Cathy) and extended family. He was predeceased by parents, E. E. and Esther Duplisea, sister, Marlene and brother, Glenn.
Bernie was born and raised in Bangor, Maine. After graduating from the University of Maine-Orono, he was stationed in the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss, Texas, as a second lieutenant. He served in the Vietnam Conflict, where he was awarded a Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, as well as several other service medals.
As a State Farm Insurance Agent for a number of years, he earned numerous awards for sales production, but most of all, enjoyed working with his clients to better serve their needs.
Bernie was especially proud of his children and always supported Reagan and Jared’s academic achievements and extra-curricular activities. He was active in his church, a Gideon and DAV #187 member.
