Benjamin Earl Savage

Benjamin Earl Savage was born on March 4, 1919 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Benjamin Earl Sr. and Hilda Bertha Kahl Savage. He passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the age of 89. A long time resident of El Paso, he was a World War II veteran, serving with the Navy Sea Bees in the South Pacific. He retired as a communications engineer from the Department of Defense, having worked at military bases in 18 states, most recently at White Sands Missile Range. Above all else, he was esteemed for being the wise and devoted, loving and steadfast patriarch of his family. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Jack Savage Sr.; niece, Ann Glattfelder; and nephew, Charles Goodwin. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Blanche Savage; daughters, Carol Duke and husband Wayne, Shirley Savage, Elizabeth Savage and husband Bob Greenwood; grandchildren, Benjamin Garland, Susan Gechter and husband Bob, Jason Goyer and fiancée Kat Chudy, Wayne Goyer and companion Lori Martinez, Mathew Duke, Aaron Goyer, Laura Goyer, Robert Greenwood, Mark Greenwood; sister, Hilda Goodwin; nieces and nephews, Hiedi Edeburn, Karan Osborne, Jack Savage, and Benjamin Savage. Graveside Service will begin at 1:00 pm, Monday, September 29, 2008 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Salvation Army.
