Barbara Ann Roberts

September 6, 1942 — February 9, 2023

Barbara Holt Roberts, 80, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend went to be with her lord and savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 9, 2023.  Barbara, a native El Pasoan was born on September 6, 1942.  She graduated from Gadsden High School and Texas Western College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.  Barbara devoted many volunteer hours to community service for a myriad of organizations throughout her lifetime.  She served on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of El Paso, the El Paso Symphony Guild, past President of the El Paso Dental Auxiliary, Texas State Dental Auxiliary, El Paso Aqua Posse, Mesita, Western Hills, Morehead, and Coronado PTAs, The United Way, El Paso Grief Center, El Paso Pastoral Counseling Service, and was Sun Bowl Coronation Coordinator in 1986.  In 1976, Barbara organized a Dental Health Program for the primary grades of the El Paso Public Schools.  She was an active member of the First Baptist Church for over 60 years and served on the personal, nominating, and social committees there.  In 1986, she became a full-time Realtor.  She was a member of the Greater El Paso Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Bill D. Holt and Beverly Gardner; stepmother Winnie Holt; her grandparents, Will and Vina Holt; and her good friend and father of her children Dan Roberts.  She is survived by her daughter Dana Roberts, son Todd Roberts, and wife Jocelyn; grandsons Demitri, Dante, and Dominic Grissom, Magnus, Raif and Reece Roberts; brother Bill D Holt, Jr (Gail); step-brother Brian Holt (Letty and children Mason, Mia, and Grayson); and nieces Beran, Tay and nephew Douglas.  Barbara’s greatest loves included her family, her many friends, her church, and most of all, attending and supporting her six grandsons’ at their sports events.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at First Baptist Church. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, American Cancer Society, or a favorite charity.
