Mother Barbara (Bobbie) Jean Rias was born on 13 July 1939 to the late George Henry Lee Sr. and Susie Gaddis Lee, in Jackson, MS. She is the sister of Earnestine Blake of Holt, MI; George Henry Lee Jr of Jackson, MS; and Eugene Lee Sr of Jackson, MS; and cousin Gwendolyn Gaddis Brown of Jackson, MS.
She leaves her cherished children; Michael E. Rias (Linda) of El Paso, TX; Darnell (Don) Rias (Arolynn) of San Antonio, TX; and Jerome (Tim) Rias (Dee Antoinette) of Mesquite, TX; five grandchildren: Cedric Luster, Jacy Chantiles, M. Emile Rias II, Darnell Rias Jr. and Aaron Rias; and one (1) great grandson: Sincere Luster; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mother Rias loved the Lord God. She relocated to Detroit, MI to join her husband with her son from Jackson, MS. Mother Rias had two additional sons in Detroit, MI. She became a single parent and raised three sons.
Mother Rias became a military dependent of Deacon Rias. She traveled to Fort Meade, Maryland and her son, Jerome, later joined them. They worshipped at Argonne Hill Chapel Gospel Service. Mother Rias and Deacon Rias PCS [Permanent Change of Station] to Fort Shafter and resided on Aliamanu Military Reservation [AMR], Hawaii and worshipped at AMR Gospel Service, joining Darnell on Oahu, HI. Mother Rias and Deacon Rias PCS to Fort Bliss, TX. They worshipped at the Chapel Four’s Centurion Gospel Service which later became Sage Hall’s Gospel Service and finally known as the Gospel Service @ Fort Bliss at First Armored Division Chapel.
Mother Rias went to sleep in the Lord on Tuesday, 11 April 2017. She was loved and will be missed.
Celebration of Life will be from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 1st Armored Division Chapel. Graveside Service will begin at 9:00am on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Desert View Cemetery.
