Avery Henry Jackson

December 7, 1929 — May 19, 2009

CSM Avery Jackson, decorated war veteran departed the world a hero on May 19, 2009. He will be remembered as a true patriot to his country and especially to his family, friends and his community. CSM Avery Jackson was recipient of the Bronze Star, Oak Leaf Cluster, and Army Commendation Medals. He was the CSM of US Army Air Defense School twice, numerous service NCO positions throughout the world. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Lou Jackson, son, Rodney A. Jackson (Ft. Worth), daughters, Kathy Cano (Grand Prairie, TX), Linda Moreno (El Paso), Terry Aldridge (Grand Prairie, TX), and Debra Jackson (Grand Prairie, TX) and grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 pm, Monday, May 25, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast (4631 Hondo Pass). Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast (4631 Hondo Pass). Interment will follow to Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
