Auther "Artie" Lee Gibson

AUTHER LEE “ARTIE” GIBSON passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 19, 1943 to the late Floyd Webster and Magnolia Jackson Webster, in Madison MS. She was educated in the Jackson Public School System and graduated from Lanier High School in 1962 and attended Utica College in Utica MS., for 2 years. Soon after she joined the United States Army and served 3 years. She professed a belief in Jesus Christ early in life and was always passionate about church and studying her bible, even as a child. She later would meet the love of her life the late John Herbert Gibson, they married on April 3, 1970. To this union one son was born John H. Gibson and daughter Katrina West. She was employed by Tennessee Public Schools as a substitute teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by her sister Annie Louise Denson. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted daughter Katrina Y. West, Claksville TN, son John H, Gibson and his wife Amy of Clarksville, TN., grandchildren; Anastacia M. White, El Paso, TX, Audriana M. West, Murfreesboro, TN, Dewayne E. West II of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Brennen Gibson of Clarksville TN, Blane Gibson of Clarksville, TN, great-grandchildren; Aaliyah Lanette White, Amiyah Janay Reed, Ayanna Breyelle Renee West, Ariella Jalynn Joy Marcelin, her siblings; Villian Dotson, Jackson MS, Ruby P. Robinson, Jackson MS, Shirley A. Stiff and her husband Charles, Floyd A. Webster, Lithonia, GA, her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00, with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00AM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Private inurnment will be held by family.
