Aurora G. Puente 94, survived by son Leandro (Isela), grandson, Leandro III, and Antonio (Yadira), great-grandsons, E. Cross and Andres, great-grand daughters, Isabella and Madeline. She was preceded in death by husband, Leandro Puente Sr., parents, Ramon H. Grado and Augustina L. Grado, brothers, Ramon, Rodolfo, Miguel, sisters, Maria Zuloaga, Catalina Rivera, Esperanza Perlmutter, Josephina Portillo, and Luz Chavez. She was very active in the V.F.W. Tigua Post 8782 as a Charter Member and with the D.A.V. she held all officer positions for the district and served all veterans with pride, and participated in all veterans activities in order to assist them. She was present at the dedication of the War Memorial in El Paso and stood with then Governer John Connally. Prior to her retirement, she was a counselor for the Texas A & M Nutrition Program, which helped low income families to purchase and prepare proper healthy meals for their families. She was a Cowboy fan and never missed a game. Pallbearers will be Leo and Tony Puente, Joe Rivera, Mickey Zuloaga, Bobby Chavez and Bobby Grado. Special Thanks to Regent Care Center and in particular Belinda, Charlie, Selena and Joann for all their care and concern. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm Monday, November 5, 2012 with a vigil at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass will be at 12:30 pm Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
