Aureliano "Eddie" Marquez, 81, left this world to be in a better place. He was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He attended Bowie High School and from there he joined the Armed Forces. While in the Army he belonged to the 82nd Airborne Division. He served his country with honor and dignity but was injured and was honorably discharged with a medical disability. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans (Korean Conflict). He would never miss a parade in downtown that was held for Memorial Day. He retired from Civil Service (Fort Bliss Commissary) where he worked for 21 years. As for his religion, he was a devout catholic and was a member of San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Clint, Texas. He was also a Cursillista which he attended at Anthony, Texas under the direction of the late Monsignor Gonzalo Morales. He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Elvira Renteria Marquez. Also his loving family who he lived for; daughter; Vera Ann Borja (Curtis) of Austin, Texas, sons; Randy Marquez (Gracie) of El Paso, Texas and Tony Marquez (Gloria) of Austin, Texas. Three grandchildren; Andrew (5) Isabel (2), Andrea (1), four brothers; Severiano, Pepe, Lalo of El Paso, Texas and Manuel of California, sister-in-law; Ruth Marquez of La Puente, California. A Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr. A Vigil/Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Clint, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be said at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church. A Committal Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
