Aurelia C. (Choma) Holguin

Aurelia C. Holguin died and resurrected on Friday, January 26, 2007, surrounded by family members. She joins her husband Juan Holguin and the Communion of Saints in Heaven with our Lord. Aurelia, better known as “Choma” to her family and others who knew her well, had a history of living out the Gospel and true meaning of “church”. This she did through her actions, love, and care with all who knew her. She received strength through prayer, was bold, powerful, and determined, showing grace through courage and humility. Aurelia is survived by her children: Pablo, Salvador, Juan B., and Humberto Holguin, Rosario H. Corral and Maria De Jesus (Susie) Cruz, their respected spouses, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, her brothers Jose Colmenero, Jesus Colmenero, and her brother in law, Efren Holguin and their families. We are deeply grateful to all the loving staff and residents at Nazareth Nursing Hall for the warmth, care and friendship of our beloved mother. In lieu of flowers the family requested donations to, Nazareth Nursing Hall, 4146 Trowbridge, El Paso, Texas 79903. Choma will be truly missed. Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 9 pm, with a Vigil at 7pm, Monday, January 29, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home-West, Chapel of Remembrance. Funeral Mass will be held at 11am, Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
