August G. Zurovetz

August G. Zurovetz, 88, was born on April 24, 1928 in Granger, Texas. He was born to George Zurovetz and Louise Kubala. He passed away on November 20, 2016 in El Paso, Texas. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Roseanna; son, William Zurovetz; daughter Eileen Gattis and son-in-law, David Gattis; grandchildren, Ryan Gattis and Caitlyn Gattis; and sister, Bernice McGrody. August served our country for many years in the United States Army as a Military Police officer. After serving his country, he worked for Wallace Cleaners, National TV, and Dustex Co. The family would like to thank Dr. Aguilar from the VA, Dr. Muneer Assi and caretakers Dora Martinez, Yvette Zimmerman, Marjorie Coover and Sam Albert. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00pm on Monday, November 28, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Committal Service will follow at 11:00am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
