Arturo A. Parra

Arturo A. Parra, 82, a lifetime resident of El Paso, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2008 of natural causes. He lived a full and love filled life surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren. “Artie” retired from Phelps Dodge in 1993. He was an avid reader of the El Paso Times and Reader’s Digest. He also enjoyed keeping up with the Cowboys, win or loose. He is survived by his wife Elvira, Mary and David Martinez, Helen Parra, Grace Parra, Marhta Parra and John Urteaga, Lorena and Gustavo Prieto, Blanca Parra, Arturo Parra Jr., Laura and Paul Sahagun, 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr. on Sunday, November 16, from 4 pm to 9 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm and on Monday from 10:30 to 1:00. Mass will be at 1:30 pm at Little Flower Catholic Church, 171 Polo Inn. Our father will be placed to rest at Evergreen Cemetery on Alameda with Military Honors. Thank you for all the support, especially to the doctors, nurses, staff and UTEP nursing students at Physicians Hospital and Highland Rehabilitation Center for their loving care. He is at Peace.
