Arturo Gonzalez

Arturo Gonzalez, 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Arturo was born in El Paso, TX on September 28, 1934. He graduated from High School with the class of 1954 from Thomas Jefferson High School. Shortly after graduation he enlisted into the United States Navy as an Aircrewman Mechanic Third Class. He served on the USS Pine and at the Naval Station in Memphis, TN from 1954 to 1958. After his enlistment he would later marry Carlota Rivera in 1960 where they welcomed three beautiful children.

Arturo worked here in the city of El Paso as an Operating Room Tech at William Beaumont Army Medical Center where he was recognized for excellence numerous times during his twenty plus years of commitment before retiring in 1989. He loved traveling across the world, working and improving his lawn which was recognized by others, the Dallas Cowboys, and the New York Yankees.

Arturo was preceded in death by this brother Valente, Martin, and Salvador. He is survived by his brother Adan and his sister Delfina. He leaves behind his son Arturo Jr. and his two daughters Martha Villegas and Monica Hinojos with eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, with Rosary at 6:00 PM, on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Service will take place at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass.
