Arturo H. Duran, 78, yrs, went to his eternal rest on October 10, 2009. He was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, He was a veteran of the Korean War in the U. S Army. He served 3 yrs and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars during his service. He is preceded in death by his parents; Conrado and Leonora Duran Sr., brother; Raul Duran and sisters; Juanita and Anita, his son; Roberto and grandchildren Lily and Roberto. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years Ernestina C. Duran, His sons; Rogelio, Ramon, Juan Alfredo, Conrado, Pedro, Guillermo, Ricardo, Jose, and Arturo Duran, daughters; Mary Calderon, Lupe Duran, and Alicia Nelson, brothers; Conrado II, Mike, Antonio, Vicente, and David, 2 sisters; Emma and Rosita, 42 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 pm, Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas with a Vigil at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church (Main). Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church (Main). Interment will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery with Military Honors. “If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, We’d walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.” Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Americas.
