Arturo Alarcon

Arturo Alarcon Sr. 74, has been called home to join his beloved wife. Arturo passed away peacefully at a local hospital on Thursday, October 22, 2015. He was a true warrior and everyone knew him as a fun, loving, and outgoing man. Arturo was definitely a special man, because when he entered a room, your spirits lifted. Arturo was born in El Paso, TX. on September 3, 1941. He attended El Paso High School and later married the love of his life, Jessie, in 1965. Arturo was a retired machinist and former Sailor in the U.S. Navy. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, beer pong, and having fun with his 10 grandkids and 4 great grandkids. Arturo leaves behind his son Arturo Jr, and daughters Irma Cortez, Irene Smith, and Denise Gonzalez, grandkids, Amanda, April, Aaron, Cassandra, Purple, Angel, Joshua, Kaydey, Amber and Izak, great grandkids Les, Adin, Amri and AJ. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Jessie, his brothers, Raul Alarcon Jr and Fernando Alarcon, and his parents Raul Sr and Guadalupe Alarcon. Viewing/Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 4:00pm-9:00pm, Military Honors at 6:00pm and Vigil/Rosary at 7:30pm at Sunset Funeral Home East.
