Arthur Robert Datnoff passed away at the age of 70 while on a trip to Galveston. Born at Hotel Dieu on March 29, 1954, in El Paso, Texas, Arthur touched the hearts of many. He attended St. Patrick School, St. Charles Seminary, Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary and the College of Santa Fe, UNM and UTEP. Arthur was a thirty-year employee of the City of El Paso, beginning in Parks and Recreation and continuing for many years in Training and Development. He was known for his unwavering loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys.
In remembrance of Arthur, a series of services will be held in El Paso to honor his life. A Visitation will take place at Sunset Funeral Homes-West, 480 N. Resler Drive, on May 13, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary led by Deacon Roberto Mata to start at 6:00 PM. Mass will be officiated by Father Ken Ducre at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa Street, on May 14, 2024, at 10:30 AM; followed by a Graveside Service at noon, at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery, 4900 McNutt Road in Santa Teresa; followed by a reception at 1:30 PM.
Arthur will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his aunt Rita Virginia Scislowski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his sister Lee Ann Datnoff, brother-in-law James "Buddy" Bennett, and their son Tyler Bennett; his sister Julie Kamoroff of Columbia, South Carolina, and her children Stephanie Vaught (Marcus), Adam Kamoroff (Meagan) and Anna Kamoroff; many cousins, and many beloved Godchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Leatrice Ann “Lee Ann” Rike Datnoff; his father and stepmother Arthur Robert and Candie Datnoff; his aunt Mary Elizabeth “Merkie” Rike; his uncle Bill Rike (Marguerite); and his grandparents Mary Elizabeth Clifford and William F. Rike.
He sure did love to dance. In lieu of flowers, buy yourself some music… and dance.
