Anthony “Tony” Ireland Sr. passed away peacefully on December 19, 2010 in El Paso, Texas. He was surrounded by his loved ones in his final hours and has made his journey to heaven. Tony was born in Hapeville, Georgia on July 3, 1938 to Minnie Christina Ireland and Noble Harold Ireland. He grew up in Fort Walton Beach Florida alongside his brothers Phillip “Bill” Ireland (Marianne) and David K. Ireland (Paulette). In Florida he developed his great sense of adventure which took him to El Paso in 1962 where he met his beloved wife Paz Martha Ireland. He is survived by his four loving sons, Oscar Ireland (Tammy), Martin Ireland (Tracie), Louis Ireland (Nicol) and Anthony Ireland Jr (Oana) who will dearly miss him. In addition, he will missed by his beautiful grandchildren, Antonio, Rachel, Sarah, Taylor and Teresa. He was preceded in death by his adoring mother Christina, his father Noble, his mother in law Basilisa Seanez and a man he adored above all others Don Blas Renteria Garibay. The Ireland family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Rosa I. Corchado and family and to those who spent time with him in his final hours and also to all those who loved him and knew him as a friend. Adios Tony, we love you and we will all miss you dearly. Services for Anthony Ireland Sr. will begin with an open visitation from 4pm and a Rosary service beginning at 7pm. at Sunset Funeral Homes in El Paso, Texas on Wednesday, December 22 (480 N. Resler). Funeral Mass will be held at 10am at Saint Matthews parish in El Paso, Texas on Thursday, December 23 (400 W Sunset) to be followed by internment at 11:15 at Memorial Pines Cemetery (3061 Memorial Pines Lane—Sunland Park New Mexico) to be followed by a reception at 1pm at the Ireland residence located at 312 Mulberry Avenue, El Paso, Texas.
