Anthony "Tony" Herbst

Dr. Anthony (Tony) F. Herbst, PhD, 76 Dr. Anthony F. Herbst, PhD., 76, of El Paso, TX passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to August K. and Cordelia (Hengesbach) Herbst. He spent the first quarter of his life in Mt. Clemens, Michigan before becoming a citizen of the world, residing in many cities, states, and countries during his lifetime. Tony was a retired UTEP Finance professor who enjoyed reading, writing, computers and technology, gardening, and travel. He loved his family, friends, and dogs. He was a lifelong proponent of the Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights amendments pertaining to individual rights and responsibilities. Tony is survived by Betty (Larsen) Herbst, his wife of 53 years, and his daughter Mya Herbst and son Geoffry Herbst, both of Greensboro, NC. A memorial event will be held on a future date.
