Anna May Martin

Anna May (Held) Martin was born January 3, 1931 in St. Cloud, MN to Isabel & Ben Held, passed on February 22, 2007. First graduating class of St. Augustine Catholic Jr. High School. Graduated from Cathedral High School, Benedictorian in 1948 in St. Cloud, MN and St. Gabriel’s School of Nursing, Little Falls, MN in 1951, Franciscano Ordinance. Affiliated at St. Cloud V.A. Hospital & St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. Nursing profession took her to Caldwell, ID where she did hospital nursing, private duty & office nursing. Ann met & married Jack R. Martin in Caldwell, ID & from there they came to Albuquerque, NM where Ann worked at Presbyterian Hospital. After moving to El Paso, TX she became active in school activities of her children. PTA President East Pt.School CCD 4th grade teacher at St. Raphael Catholic Church & Woman’s Guild President at St. Raphael. She nursed at Sun Towers & Eastwood Hospital & Del Sol for 19 years. After retirement she volunteered at Del Sol & St. Raphael‘s as Eucharistic Minister. She is predeceased by her mother & father, Isabel & Ben Held, 2 brothers Norbert & Herbert and sister LaVinia. Survived by sons: Scott and John; Daughter-in-law: Tammy & 3 grandchildren: Bo-Jack, Kayla Marie & Shelby Ann. Others include Shirley and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 9:00 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2007 with a vigil at 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East; located at 750 N. Carolina Drive. Funeral Mass 11:30 am Monday, February 26, 2007 at St. Raphael Catholic Church; located at 2301 Zanzibar. Interment will follow at Evergreen East Cemetery.
