Anita F. Alvarez

Anita Alvarez "Little Grandma", 91, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 4, 2008. She was born in Tularosa, NM. She lived most of her life in El Paso and was a member of San Antonio De Padua Catholic Church. She was a wonderful mother, caring grandmother, and loving great-grandmother. Although we rejoice her entry into heaven, our hearts miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband Seferino O. Alvarez, son Gilbert Alvarez, and daughter Paulina Luna.  She is survived by daughters Josefina Duran and Sophia Getty, sons Alfonso Alvarez and Charles R. Alvarez, sister Minnie Solis, 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren.  Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 9 PM,  with a rosary at 7 PM Monday, December 8, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N Carolina.  Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 10 am at San Antonio Church, 503 Hunter.  Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.  Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Bobby Duran, Billy Getty, Ronnie Getty, Chris Gutierrez, Clint Duran, and Bob Vasquez.  Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Gutierrez. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
