Angel B. Ponce Passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday April 1st at the age of 90 after a long, brave battle with Dementia. Born on August 14, 1921 in Santa Barbara, CA to Jesus and Juana Barba Ponce. Mr. Ponce retired from Farah in 1986 after being a loyal employee for 32 years. He was a devoted servant of our Lord Jesus Christ and was passionate about sharing the gospel with all he came across. Preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Jesus, Nicolas and Elias B. Ponce. He is survived by his loving and loyal wife of 45 years who devoted her life to his care until his very last breath, Julieta A. Ponce and his children Angel E. Ponce (Sonia) of El Paso, Elias Ponce of El Paso, Adela Faust and (Rodney) of Maryland, Angel Ponce and Wanda of California, Gabriela Johnson ( Ralph) of El Paso and Luciano Ponce of El Paso; grandchildren Sarai Rogers, Catherine and Elizabeth Johnson, Elias Ponce Jr., Lee, Roy and Sam Faust; Great-Granchildren Nathaniel Cuevas and Aidan James Johnson. Sisters Senona Padilla, Nena Roman and Juanita Medrano, all of California and numerous nieces, nephews and others who he loved dearly. Viewing will be April 4th from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with services held at 7:00 PM officiated by his nephew Mr. Jesse Ponce of Albuquerque at Sunset Funeral Home at 9521 North Loop Dr. The family would like to say a very special thank-you to Bienvivir Senior Health for their exceptional and compassionate care for the last 2 years and 7 months of his life and especially to Dr. A. Sekhon, Nurses and other staff Jennifer Hernandez, Andi DeLaRosa, Michelle Doonan, Maria Escobedo, Daniel Ramirez, Robert Villa, Merari Lozano, Estela Santos and many others that provided support; and a special gratitude for the care and unwavering compassion shown by Luz Miranda, his Provider for 2 years and 4 months who was also present at the time of his death. Mr. Ponce, now in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, is finally home. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful” 2 Timothy 4:7.
