He served his country during WWII in the AAF 17th SQ 16th Bomb Grp 315th Bomb Wing as an airplane crew chief. Andy worked for many years on the Chevron Pipeline in various small towns in the Permian Basin , Carlsbad , and El Paso . He had many fond memories of the camaraderie of the folks with whom he lived and worked on the Pipeline. He retired from Chevron in El Paso . He was married to Pat for 27 years and was a step-father to her four children, but was Pappaw to their grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was as active in his church as his health permitted. His friends at church were very devoted to him when he could no longer drive and fetched him for Sunday services and Men’s club activities. He was thrilled when a group of men from the church surprised him with a birthday breakfast this year. Andy was also active in the Chevron Retirees Club and enjoyed the fellowship at the weekly coffee for as long as he was able. Thank you to all our friends, family and associates for their acts of kindness when Andy became homebound. The cards, flowers, visits, breakfast, lunch outings and telephone calls were appreciated more than you can ever know. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to Tobin Park United Methodist Church whose members were so attentive and kind to Andy, or to your favorite charity.
