Andrew Francis Durk

Andrew F. Durk went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 19, 2010 at the age of 78. Andrew was born in Shelton, CT on January 17, 1932. He enlisted into the United States Army at the age of 17 and retired after completing 20 yrs of service. During his Army career he served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Andrew was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 53 yrs, Pauline Durk, their three daughters, Pauline Torres, Carol Romero and Roberta Mercer, son-in-laws, Ray Torres and Roger Romero, eight grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Andrew and Alice Durk; siblings, Edward T. Durk and Mary Tichey. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 pm. Committal Service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, March 26, 2010 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Interment: Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
