Andrea Young, 42, Courageous Veteran and Devoted Family Member and Friend

Andrea Young, born in Andrews, Texas, and raised in Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away on October 27, 2024, in El Paso, Texas. Andrea was not just a National Guard veteran; she was a vibrant spirit who embodied resilience and determination. A beloved granddaughter, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, partner, and friend, Andrea's life was filled with love and laughter.

Her love for her family was boundless. Andrea's bravery, humor, and steadfast loyalty left an indelible mark on those who knew her. To her friends, she was family, always ready with a listening ear and kind words. Her generosity of spirit touched everyone around her.

Andrea was a passionate sports enthusiast, cheering for her favorite teams— the Atlanta Braves, Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Lakers, and Texas Longhorns—with infectious enthusiasm. Her vibrant spirit shone through in her team jerseys and heartfelt (and loud) cheers.

A Celebration of life to honor Andrea’s life will be held on December 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home West, 480 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, Texas 79912. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to veteran charities such as the  Wounded Warrior Project or Mission 22 in her memory, continuing her legacy of service and honor.
