Ana "Anita" Maria Duran

Ana “Anita” Maria Duran, age 83, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She dedicated her life to serving others, notably as a compassionate case worker for the Child Crisis Center.

Ana Maria was born on March 13, 1941 in Guanaceví Durango, Mexico. Throughout her 60-year marriage to Juan Angel Duran, she nurtured a loving family and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Guillermo Abraham Martinez and Clemencia, her beloved son: Juan Angel “Johnny” Duran Jr. and her loving sister: Alicia Aguirre. Ana Maria is survived by her devoted husband: Juan Angel Duran, her children: Yvette Bahls (George), Xavier Angel Duran, and Tracy Ann Carter. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Courtney Bahls, Xavier Angel Duran Jr., George Eric Bahls II, Kimberly Ana Gaona (Andres), and Kevin Angel Duran (Angie).

Ana Maria will be remembered fondly by her siblings: Irene Borunda, Olga Cordova, William Martinez, Robert Martinez, Raul Martinez, and Margie Telles, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, with a Holy Rosary at 6:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 N. Loop. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Ana Maria's life will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 11:30am at St Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 N. Clark St. Following the Mass, Ana Maria will be laid to rest at Evergreen East Cemetery.
