Amber Lauren Vandrey

Amber Lauren (Hays) Vandrey, 22, passed away on August 16, 2009 in El Paso, Texas. She was born to Kimberly Ward and James Hays on January 17, 1987 in Abilene, Texas. Survived by her husband, David Vandrey; stepdaughter, Theadocia Janet Peterson; parents, Kimberly Ward, James Hays, and Gregory Speier; Mother-in-law, Barb Vandrey; brother, James Hays; sister, Kaitlyn Ward; grandparents, Charles G. Ward, Frances Randazzo, Lois Breitbarth, and Jim and Connye Hays. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Victor Vandrey and grandfathers, Eldor Breitbarth and William Russell “Pops”. Amber graduated from Coronado High School in 2005 and was involved with Varsity Softball, Volleyball and FFA. She was a member of Texas State Traveling Softball Team, and Kappa Delta Sorority at CSU, Ft. Collins, Colorado. Pallbearers, James Hays, Ben Vandrey, Judge Scott, Julie Dial, Mike McCormick, Paul Medlin and Ruben Schaefer. Honorary Pallbearers, John Carpenter, Greg Speier, Ron Burnam and Roger Smith. Visitation will be held from 4:00-9:00 pm, Friday, August 21, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Westside Church of Christ.
