Amalia G. Portillo

Amalia G. Portillo, 87, entered into eternal rest on October 1, 2024 in El Paso, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hipolito Gonzalez and Josefina Avalos. Brother, Antonio Gonzalez and Demetrio Gonzalez. Sisters, Amparo Hernandez and Adelaida Gonzalez. Amalia is survived by her beloved sons, Gustavo Portillo (Nancy), Roberto Portillo (Silvia) and daughter, Maria Gonzalez (Anatolio Acosta). Her sister, Josefa Armenta. Also leaving behind her grandchildren; David Portillo (Denise), Marsela Gonzalez, Monica Velasquez (Jose), Luis Velasquez, Crystal Portillo, Connie Gonzalez, Cynthia Gonzalez, Perla Portillo and Paola Portillo; and her great grandchildren; Luke, Daleyza, Kate, Arlette, Liam, David, Salunah and Aria.  She is also survived by many extended friends and family to honor and cherish her memory. 

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Funeral Service starting at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr., El Paso, TX 79907. A Mass will begin at 9:30 AM on Friday, October 11, 2024 at La Purisima Catholic Church, 328 S Nevarez Rd, Socorro, TX 79927. A Graveside Service will follow at 10:45 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79907. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- Americas.
