Alonso C. Macias, 77, entered into eternal rest on August 30, 2021 in El Paso, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Ernesto Macias Sr., mother, Herminia Castaneda. Alonso is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years; Juanita Macias, son; David Reveles (Lorraine), daughters; Susan Reveles, Nora Macias- Rivera (Chris) and brother; Ernesto Macias (Rosario). Also leaving behind nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren to cherish his memory.
Our dad was born in Mexico in 1943, he came to the United States as a teenager and joining the Army after graduating from Ysleta High School. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam and Gulf wars. He retired from the Army reserves after 25 years of faithful service. He loved photography, woodwork, dancing and playing his guitar. He was a loving husband, a wonderful dad, grandpa and Ta-Ta.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary starting at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr, El Paso, Texas 79907. A mass will begin at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. A graveside will follow at 2:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- Americas.
