Alois Josef Linggi

Alois Josef Linggi born September 5, 1931 entered eternal life on November 5, 2011. Born in Schwyz, Switzerland, Alois was the second child of Paulina Josifina Amstad Linggi and Alois Josef Linggi. He is survived by his sister, Paulina Josifina Rietmann; brother-in-law, Freddi Rietmann; and nephew, Erich Rietmann of Zurich, Switzerland. Alois immigrated to the United States in the 1950s and proudly served our nation from 1954 to 1975 as an aircraft maintenance technician. After 21 years he retired with rank of Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Alois leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Bertha Ornelas Reyes Linggi; children: Monica Theresa, Luis Carlos, and Maria Bertha; son-in-law, Mark Clay and daughter-in-law, Laura Elizabeth Anne. “Grossvater”, as he was fondly known to his two granddaughters: Serena Marie and Melina Marie and five grandsons: Christopher Aaron, Nicolaus Josef, Demitri Augustus, Zaccaria Aquinas, and Sebastian Tobias, will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held from 4-9pm with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 6pm, Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 12:30pm, Monday, November 14, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
