Alfonso Portillo

Alfonso M Portillo, 76, died August 19th, 2012, with his loving family at his side in El Paso Texas. Alfonso was an extremely hardworking, caring, giving, loving and honorable man who showed his family through his actions how much he loved and cared about his loved ones. Alfonso moved to El Paso, Texas in 1977 after marrying his beautiful wife Julieta Portillo and together we're able to form a thriving business and raise a great and loving family. After closing their business he went back to work at the age of 70 assisting the US military with delivering their ammunition at McGregor Range; leaving to work at 3:30 am leaving enough time to change a tire should he need to and still be at work on-time at 6:00 a.m. He showed his family that anything in life is possible with hard work and dedication and was a role-model to everyone around him. Prior to his passing Alfonso had accepted Christ as his lord and savior. He will be missed by many but forgotten by none. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Julieta Portillo, 10 children, 28 grandkids and 16 great-grandkids. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm, Wednesday August 22, 2012 with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am, Thursday August 23, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment: Private.
