Alfonso L Morrow

May 9, 1943 — November 15, 2016

Alfonso L. Morrow, Jr. graced this world on May 9, 1943 in Clearwater, Florida. He was born to Alfonso and Lula Mae Morrow as the oldest of six children. Al graduated from Pinellas High School in 1963 in Clearwater, Florida and later joined the Army. During his time in the Army, he met and married his wife, Ruth H. Kail on September 8, 1967. Al was a loving husband to his wife, Ruth Morrow, who preceded in death on November 5, 2007. Al was a career military veteran, serving over 22 years in the Army, with tours of duty in the United States, Germany, Vietnam, and other areas of Europe. He received numerous awards, medals, and other decorations while in the Army, retiring as a Sargent First Class. Al also taught courses for the Army at West Point and White Sands Missile Range. He was a decorated Marksman but his true passion was metal body mechanics. Upon retirement from the military, Al worked for the City of El Paso, and served in many volunteer activities, both at church (Usher/Silver Stars) and in his community. Al loved God and had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1957, so it is not with sorrow that we perceive his passing, but with great peace and celebration knowing that he now resides in everlasting glory with the Father. He will be greatly missed, but will live on in our hearts and memories forever. Al was preceded in death by both parents, his wife Ruth, and is survived by his sisters, a brother, and a half-brother and half-sister -- Olive M. Morrow, Marva Perry, and Marguerite Morrow, all of Largo, FL, Rose M. Perry (Willie) of Marietta, GA, and Harold L. Morrow (Judy) of Hephzibah, GA; Kennedy Morrow of Dallas, TX and Jacqueline Morrow of Roberta, GA. He is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
