Albino Huizar Campos, 85, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2008. Albino was born on June 15, 1922 in Handford, California. Albino is survived by 6 sisters and brothers, Conrad Campos, Carlos Campos, Edwardo Campos, Angela Garcia, Ana Arce, and Sofia Chavira. He is preceded in death by brothers and sisters; Nacita Campos, Gloria Campos, Ricardo Campos, Lucina Dunlap, Enedina Kuhful. He lived in El Paso before enlisting in the military in December 29, 1942. Albino was in action at Bismarck, Guadual Canal, Archipelago, South Philippines and Luzon. Albino was awarded the Bronze Star medal, South Pacific War medal with 4 battle stars, Philippine Liberation medal with 3 battle stars, Victory medal and Occupation Forces with a Japan Bar and a good conduct medal. After his discharge from the military he continue his career as a leather craftsman in Hollywood, California where he made leather wear for famous movie stars such as John Wayne and for numerous movies. Albino was inventive, talented and remarkably humorous. He will greatly be missed by his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends. Albino, we all love you and thank you for being a part of our life. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home- East. Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008. Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Santo Nino de Atocha Catholic Church. Graveside Service at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home -East.
