She moved to El Paso as a young woman where she met the love of her life, Al “Poncho” Loustaunau. They were blessed with a loving marriage of 64 years. Margie was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her five children. To her 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, she was affectionately known as "Mima." Margie's family meant the world to her. She cherished spending time with her loved ones. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her kids and grandkids, celebrating special occasions and holidays, or simply sharing a family dinner together. She especially looked forward to weekend getaways with her family in Timberon, NM. Margie was a woman of strong faith and her devotion to God was evident in her daily life. She enjoyed Bible study with her friends for many years. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Margie is preceded in death by her husband Al, daughter Elsa Maldonado, parents Federico and Elfida Herrera, and sister Gloria Burgess. She is survived by her children Bob (Christy), Mike (Julie), Kathy Langford (Ben), David (Laurie), son-in-law Victor Maldonado, and brother Fred Herrera (Ora), as well as her 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their gratitude to Fr. Richard Sotelo for his love and support. They would also like to thank the compassionate staff at The Bartlett Assisted Living and Enhabit Hospice. The family is especially grateful to Graciela “Chela” Varela, for her dedicated service, care, and companionship to Margie over the years.
