A. Ralph Rettig, Jr., 79, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2012, surrounded by his family. Ralph was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Born on October 11, 1932 in Evanston, IL to Thelma Hunt and A Ralph Rettig, Sr., Ralph attended Gadsden High School and graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in Business. After serving in the US Army, he began his lifelong career in Shareholder and Governmental Relations with El Paso Natural Gas Co. where he retired in 1993. Ralph is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anne Simpson Rettig; daughters Marcy Cavaretta (Tom), Karen Rogers (Mark); grandchildren Joey Cavaretta, Nick Cavaretta, Anne Marie Rogers; brothers Ernest H. Rettig (Anneline), Henry G. Rettig; nieces and nephews Michael Rettig (Bobbie), Mark Rettig, Craig Rettig (Karen), Denise Burgess (Mike), Richard Rettig (Kristin), Monica Moore Cation (Michael), Melissa Moore Beaty (Gary), Corie Moore Brashears (Brandon). Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 11, at 10:30am, at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Rettig, Mark Rettig, Craig Rettig, Richard Rettig, Mike Burgess, Michael Cation, Maj. Gary Beaty and Brandon Brashears.
