Dolores Morales Holguin

Dolores Morales Flores Holguin passed away in El Paso, Texas at age 85 on Friday, October 15, 2021, peacefully, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her loved ones. Loli was born on October 24, 1935, to Maria and Elias Morales. Her siblings include: Evaristo (Bingo) Morales, deceased, Margarita (Mague) Morales Perez, Gloria (Yayo) Morales Betancourt, deceased, and Elias (Sonny) Morales. She graduated from Loretto Academy and retired from the Texas Department of Health. She married Ruben Flores and together they raised five children, Jack Flores, Lorraine Grace Flores Sanchez, Neny Ivonne Flores Goldberg, Martha Jean Flores Peron, and Jacqueline Dolores Flores Wilson. Ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren celebrate the life of their DoDo. Lola was active in ladies LULAC counsel #335 for many years and served as counsel president and as a delegate to numerous local, state, and national conventions. She honed her remarkable public speaking skills as a member of the Cuidad Juárez chapter of Toastmasters and nurtured her love of service as a volunteer at Del Sol Hospital. On October 10, 1986, she married her constant companion and soulmate Enrique (Henry) Holguin. They celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary the week she died. Dolores and Henry, who is an official tribal member and revered elder, were active supporters of the Ysleta Pueblo del Sur sovereign nation. They spent much of their leisure time fundraising, socializing, and travelling with fellow Tigua elders and Dolores wrote articles for the tribe's newsletter. The visitation will be from 5pm to 9pm on Friday, October 22, 2021, with the Rosary at 7pm, both at Sunset Funeral Home 9521 North Loop Drive, El Paso, Texas 79907. The church service is on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 11am at the Ysleta de Sur Pueblo Mission, 131 South Zaragoza Road, El Paso, Texas, 79907.
