CSM Charlie Alonzo Passmore (Ret.), 82, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015.
Charlie was born in Zebulon, Georgia on June 12, 1932. He graduated from Fairmont High School and served in the United States Army for 26 years. He served two tours in Vietnam and received numerous awards, including the Army Commendation Medal. Charlie later married Betty Copeland in a union which lasted for over 60 years.
In 1978, Charlie and his business partner Thomas Randleel, became the co-owners of Ran Pass Liquors, the first black owned business in West Texas. They successfully operated Ran Pass for many years. Charlie was a talented basketball player and was inducted into the Griffin-Spalding County Athletics Hall of Fame in 1986. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved to play golf.
Charlie is survived by his wife Betty, sons Charles and Kenneth Passmore, daughters; Chrysantheia Passmore, Pamela Hopkins (husband Ronald), Kimberly Williams (husband Donald), and Felicia Gomez. He leaves behind grandchildren Nichole and Natasha Gomez, Charlie, Randy, Phillip, and Michael Passmore, Briana and Toure Hopkins, Donald and Sean Williams, great-grandson Randy Culpepper Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Service at 11:30am on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Sunset Funeral home Northeast. Committal Service will follow at 1:00pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
